In high school my friends and I would load up and go to Skiatook lake. My poor dad with about 5 of my friends in a boat all day... I can only imagine the stuff he overheard. Those lake trips are such great memories for me. Ever since my parents moved to the lake I've been wanting to host a lake reunion party with those high school girls. I finally got it coordinated this summer!
I invited Lisa, Jenny and Michelle as well. My friends that weren't from high school were concerned that they would throw things off since they weren't the original high school crew but I assured them that this group of girls was so much fun, and that they had to come!
Maggie, Rachel, Lisa and I started the weekend off on Friday with an evening boat ride to "Last Chance" restaurant on the lake. We enjoyed a relaxing dinner there with my parents.
Saturday morning we headed to Hot Springs where Maggie and Rachel got pampered at one of the bath houses. Lisa, my mom and I relaxed on the patio chairs and did some people watching. Jenny and Michelle drove up from Maumelle that day and met us in HS. We did a little shopping and headed back to the village for fun in the sun. Laurel made it in time to laugh about 50 shades of grey, challenge each other to kayak races and fight off those damn mayflies.
That evening we went to Hot Spring for dinner and a night out. Just like back in the day we had my dad as our driver. (this time it was a suburban rather than a boat). I haven't laughed that much in a long time. It was so nice to get together with old friends to enjoy a husbandless, kidless weekend of fun!
