I had bunco at my house last night. We ended up trying a new game called LCR instead and had a blast. I especially enjoyed it cause I won the jackpot of $36! Woo hoo! The girls in my group also threw me and another girl a diaper shower. You can never have too many of those things laying around! (if you're wondering why we've got money stuffed in our shirts... we both won LCR and the rule is, when you win you have to stuff the money in your shirt and take a picture)
We played 2 rounds and then sat around talking. Our group has all different women in it. I think everyone is married, but not everyone has kids. Some of us work outside of the home and some don't. Last night we got on the topic of jealousy. Several of us pointed out the different things that we're jealous of the others for.
Why are we like that! I am definitely guilty! Comments were made like - - oh wow, I love your open floor plan, and the yard is great... meanwhile I'm jealous of their new homes in new neighborhoods with lots of room and hardwood floors. I'm even more jealous of their cute wardrobes and skinny bodies! I'm not, however, jealous of the amount of money and time they spend to have all those cute clothes and skinny bodies. So they'd probably be jealous of my savings account. It's just a big circle of jealousy! It finally got to the point where one of the girls said... You never know some one's situation 100% ... and isn't that the truth! We sit around and look at the good in other people's lives and wish we had it, not paying any attention the the things in their lives that might not be so great. Then we look at our own lives and whine about the crappy parts not paying much attention to the good.
How stupid is that. So... today... since I'm off work I'm enjoying my big flat backyard cause I really do love it :-) I might even put this chubbalicious body in a bathing suit to lay out... I'll try to keep my mind off of how cute all of my bunco friends would look in their suits :-)

So true! I am constantly wanting more more more when I truly do have more than I ever could have hoped for. Great post and a great reminder for me to really appreciate Memorial Day when so many people are out there fighting for me to be able to have more.
