The Binky Fairy visits the Lada's

Okay so Molly is going to be 3 at the end of the month and she still has a binky. In my defense it's only at night and she's such an awful sleeper that I just kept letting her have it so that it would be easier on me to put her to bed. Alright... so I have been saying that there will be absolutely no binkies after her 3rd birthday. I told her about the binky fairy (I learned about her from the super nanny) and she wanted nothing to do with the idea. For those of you who don't know who the binky fairy is... she's basically the tooth fairy but for binkies.
I was on the phone with a friend telling her about the fairy and how she was going to have to pay us a visit soon. Molly overheard me and when I got off the phone she came in and said she wanted the fairy to come. I thought... well heck... I better do this while I can. It happened to be right before nap time too. So, we loaded up all the binkies from the house and put them in a gift bag. Molly set them on the front porch and we wrote a letter to the binky fairy. I kept reminding Molly that she didn't need binkies because she was a BIG GIRL and that the fairy would take the binkies to other babies that needed them. I told her that while she was sleeping the fairy would come get the binkies and leave her a suprise. She turned to me and told me she wanted her suprise to be a BIG GIRL bicycle. I thought well goodness girl... I was going to give you a pack of smarties but I guess if it means that we won't have binkies anymore then fine. So... she went to sleep and Joey ran to the store to get a bike.
Here's the footage of the event.... Joey filmed her on the video camera when she woke up and saw her bike but I don't know how to transfer that to the computer. It is much better than what you are about to view but this is all that I was able to capture on my digital camera. (I'm into blogging video's right now I you haven't noticed).

She cried a little bit the last 2 nights about her binky but tonight she didn't even ask for it. The whole process was much easier (and a lot more expensive) than I thought it would be.

So cute!! Wish I'd had this stuff back in the day to have caught you kids' growth & comments. How do you save this stuff so it's not lost - CD?

Wow, she is so big! I remember holding her at Jen's for Lisa's shower! :)

What a great idea, and a somewhat easy transition for you! :) My sister and Maren did the same thing, except she didn't get a bike! :)

Christian has not had a passy for about 18 months but he still asks for it all the time!! He really misses it, I think it was like a friend to him, esp. since he is an only child thus far.

I did this whole thing where we tied the passy onto a balloon and let it go to "heaven", but before the balloon was even over the roof of the house, he wanted us to fly up there and get it!! Perhaps with the next one, I'll just beg the binky fairy to come and pay us a visit!
