The new blog design inspiration

A few weeks ago I, along with some friends, hosted a baby shower.  We received fun hostess baskets that had personalized napkins.  Mine said "there's nothing a flat iron and a glass of wine can't fix"  (very true) :-)

One of the other hostesses got napkins that said "living the minivan dream".  I harassed her so long that she finally gave in and handed over the minivan napkins.  I LOVE them.  I mean... really... they're great!
I know you're thinking I'm kidding right. ... Not kidding.  Really do love the napkins.

I realize now that I didn't know much when I was young, but I did know I would NEVER own a minivan. Even as I grew older and became a mom, I swore that I would never drive a minivan. They were so uncool and seemed to scream to the world, “Hey everybody!! I’m a mom!” A few of my cousins owned them and I was never impressed. I felt like an uber dork just riding in them.  I'm pretty sure I could be quoted saying "I'll go broke and will buy the hottest SUV that will hold my kids before I ever get caught dead in a minivan"
But like many of the “I’ll never’s” of my youth, fate had a way of saying “Nanny-nanny-boo-boo!”
At a young age of 25, I had a 2 year old, a 6 month old and I found out I was pregnant.  AHHHH!!   That's when "cool"  went out the window.   There was no possible way I could put 3 carseats in the backseat of my jeep cherokee.... not an option.  My dad has a suburban so I looked it over and after pulling out your step stool to climb into the thing, you have to go on a 3-day voyage to get to the back seat... it was an option but not a very good one.  So... I just swallowed my pride and googled minivans.
It has taken me a while, but I've decided this is my life... OWN IT!  I am a mom...  It's okay to drive a  "mom car"

I was really torn about these napkins and so badly wanted to give them to you. I also wanted each hostess to get a different set. So glad you got them anyway because you are really Living the Minivan Dream!!
