Our three girls couldn't be more different. I took these pictures this morning after church and they make me smile! I love everything about them.
1. I love to dress them alike, especially for church. There's something about watching them walk into church stair stepped in their matching clothes that makes the chaos of Sunday morning so worth it!
2. I love that Molly insists on wearing those horrible shoes every Sunday. She loves that they are high heels. Pick your battles right.
3. I love the poses... Molly with her model pose, Avery cheesin' it up, and Presley just following the lead of her older sisters.
4. I love that in every pictures Avery looks so goofy!
5. I love that even though I bought them matching silver shoes, Presley is the only one that will wear them. I take that back... I don't actually love that they won't wear their new shoes... I just love that the picture shows that little part of my life... the fights over what shoes they want to wear. (another battle I'm not willing to fight).
Molly - she's my serious, somewhat snooty, very smart 5 year old. Love her to death but the girl is a little mean at times. After a big bowl of tortilla soup she looked at me and said "mommy, your belly is fat."
I recently put some red highlights in my hair. She looked at me and said "mom, your hair is red"
me- yeah, I know. I put red highlights in it
molly - WHY? it looks ugly like thatJoey and I explained that it's not nice to say things like that and she just looks at us with the... "well your belly is fat and your hair is ugly" look on her face. I guess she gets her honesty from me :-)
She is so smart. She is starting to read/memorize. Tonight she randomly said the Pledge of Allegiance the entire way through on her own. Neither of us had heard her do that before. Pretty cool (Avery knew parts of it too).
We recently went to parent teacher conferences and were very proud to hear that she's one of the smartest in the class. Mrs. Thompson loves her and complimented us a lot for being such good parents. I love my kids, but I really don't think I'm that great of a parent and know I have TONS of room to step it up in the "teaching" department. So for her to think we are so fabulous just makes me a little sad to think what other kids have for parents.
On to AVERY - she's my sweet, extremely goofy, cutie patootie. Everywhere we go people stop to say how cute she is. She's full of personality and everyone seems to love her. All of our kid less friends love her and tell us all the time how they want an Avery when they have kids. The ones with kids love her too but they can see the 2 year old "twinkle" in her eye :-) what I mean by that is... she's a mess and a whole lot of work and most of the time you can tell it by looking at her.
This is what Avery had to say about my new do...
Avery - Mommy your hair is turning tolors (she says t's for c's)
me - I know, I put some red highlights in it
Avery - I like it, it's pretty! She compliments people all the time. "i like your pretty necklace", "i like your fancy shoes" "you look pretty" She loves it when I wear lipstick and almost always compliments me when I wear it.
When Molly said "mommy, your belly is fat" Avery turns around, pulls up her shirt and says "mom, look at my boobs" OMG... The child is obsessed with boobs! If she is in the room when I'm getting dressed she never fails to say "I tan see your boobies mommy" Or when she is changing shirts she will say "see my boobs mom" We just shake our heads and try not to laugh.
Again... she's super GOOFY! I tell her she's my little goofball and she either cracks up laughing or says "I'n not a doofball mommy, I'n Avery Tate Lada" (and yes... that's supposed to be a D on doofball and an N on I'n, cause that's how she says it).
Presley - not too sure what she is yet. She is definitely learning to stand up for herself. She fights with Avery pretty often. When I say fight... I mean fight. They scream at each other, pull hair, yank on clothes, play tug of war over toys. It's never ending.
She's starting to talk more everyday.
She calls all drinks "pop"... not sure why. I drink pop but don't really talk about it and don't give it to my kids so Im not sure where she got that from.
Some of her favorite words are... shoes, uhoh, mama, sessy (presley), arey (avery), socks, no,
She can show you where her nose, eyes, teeth, ears, feet and belly are.
She loves her stuffed animal monkey. We call him her boyfriend and she know exactly what you're talking about when you talk about him. She still sucks her ring finger and loves to have her silky at bedtime.
She is very polite... always says "thank you" She says it anytime you hand her something. If she wants you to hand her something she yells "thank you" Or if she wants you to take something from her she will come up to you and yell "THANK YOU" too. It's pretty funny.
She's still a great sleeper. Goes to bed so easily around 8 and wakes up around 8 (9 times out of 10 I have to wake her up to take Molly to school).
She is a great eater. She loves to climb and is still a little bit of a cuddler. what can I say... I love my girls!
