Happy 2nd Birthday Avery

At the last minute, we decided to have a "small" get together to celebrate Avery's 2nd Birthday. We didn't think she had enough friends to throw a "real" party so we just had it at our house.
We invited about 10 friends thinking that was a nice amount, but then when you add in siblings and parents you've got 40 people! I'm not complaining at all! 2 years ago we didn't have a 2nd birthday for Molly. We had just moved to AR and had no friends. I'm happy to have great friends and have realized that we have graduated from having "small" parties and will probably have to celebrate at a Chuck E. Cheese type of place next year.

Can you guess how old this little girl is? YEP... MOST DEFINITELY 2!!!! I couldn't get her to put on the birthday hat. She wouldn't even look at the camera. I finally snapped this shot against her will, but think it's just perfect :-)

Her $8 walmart cake was delicious. Next year I'll be sure to tell them that Avery is a girl and to ask specifically for a color that matches the cake. I mean come on... there's not a speck of blue on the whole cake. Oh well :-)

Molly didn't mind putting on the birthday hat and posing for a picture.
We got her a magnetic board to hang in her room. It is a gift to her and me. We have the magnetic Alphabet and farm animals. They're great learning tools but they drive me insane cause they always end up all over the kitchen floors. Simple solution... magnetic board in the bedroom. She loves it and so do I! We also painted a chalkboard in our laundry room for her to draw on. It's super cool!
Check out her card full of money! Momma sent her a card with 20 one dollar bills in it. She LOVE LOVE LOVED it. Molly loved it too. Learning again that not everything is all about her and that all 20 of those dollars belong to Avery. It's so tough being 4 ;-)
And we can't forget about Presley. She enjoyed all of the excitement of the day.
