My Kitchen Make Over

We have been working hard since we moved in. One of our major projects has been the kitchen. It had really awful wallpaper. We tore it down, textured the walls and painted. We are still wanting new countertops and backsplash. And... my curtains were temporarily hung with thumb tacks just so I could see if I was going to like them or not. The window is oversized so the rod has to be ordered. It seems like everything ends up being harder than you plan.

Last weekend we bought all of our new light fixtures and I can't wait to get them hung. They're going to make such a big difference. The ones we currently have are gold and UGLY!!

Joey said he would hang them after he gets the fence done... and he finished it today so I guess I can start bugging him to get started on the light fixtures this weekend :-)

After that I think we'll tackle the master bathroom. It too has awful wallpaper that doesn't want to come off very easily. It's a fairly large bathroom so I'm really not looking forward to that project. I complain about the projects but enjoy them at the same time. There's such a sense of pride after it's all done. If we would have moved in with the kitchen the way it is now I wouldn't be near as proud of it as I am after all that work.

Molly has been so great during all of the projects so far. She wants to help so badly! She also really wants some work to get done in her room. She tells us all the time that she wants her room to be painted purple. It's currently just a really plain grey color. I'd love to paint her room, but it's pretty far down on the to do list.

Here she is jumping on her new big girl bed complete with sunglasses and a princess crown... but no pants :-)
